A few have asked about the photos of sand drawings. Well . . .

During my correspondence with the people along the northwestern Anolthran coast, technically the Bediyer peninsula, I was introduced to their unique style of nature-based art. They have a name for it, but I'm not sure how to spell it (or even pronounce it in their language). I will just call it sand painting. Like sandcastles, their works of art are only temporary, often gone by the next morning with the tide. The artist will spend hours on the beach, painting the sand and shaping it into flat symbols and animals. Inspired by them, I decided to give it a try. I know my attempt can't match the intricacy and unique colors of their works, but I hope it honors their spirit and culture. I chose the Anolcara symbol as my subject, something the people along the Bediyer peninsula, under current laws, would be hesitant to recreate.
